For over 100 years,

we have been dedicated to holistic well-being through innovative products. The foundation for this vision was laid by Richard Carl Pittlik in Dresden in 1910, when he founded Deutsche Arzneimittelwerke Li-iL to produce efficacy-tested medicinal baths with natural active ingredients — a genuine product revolution at the time.

The name Li-iL is composed of the abbreviation for lithium, a carrier substance for essential oils, and ilatum, a principle of action of substances absorbed through the skin.

Until its nationalization in 1972 and even under changing political conditions, Li-iL stood strong, thanks to its successful brands among tough competition. But when the Berlin Wall fell in 1989, like many other former GDR companies, Li-iL suddenly had to fight for survival. Only under the direction of the new owners (the family business, Holtsch) was the company able to establish itself in the market for cosmetic and wellness products.

DRESDNER ESSENZ stands with passion and tradition for an innovative and holistically effective product range, produced on the basis of the latest psychological and medical research. We have always remained true to the vision of Richard Carl Pittlik and trust to this day in the effectiveness of herbal extracts and carefully selected natural ingredients.
